In 2022, 8,500 classic cars and around 195,000 sports car enthusiasts descended upon Le Mans to witness more than 550 competing cars, all of which had participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans between 1923 & 1979. They were divided, according to their age, into 6 grids, to take part in the race.
It’s known as the biggest British motor race in France, and that looks set to continue this year, with news that spectators will be allowed at the postponed 2020 Le Mans 24 Hours 0n 19-20 September. But with numbers limited and fans being split into self-contained ‘villages’ of around 5,000 spectators, ticket sales have been halted.
