One of the easiest signs to tell if a Scotty Cameron is counterfeit or authentic is to look at the shaft label. If it is on the front, then it is counterfeit. If the shaft label is on the back, then it is authentic. The shaft label will not be visible at address. The shaft band and serial number will be on top of the shaft on the real putter.
Newport 2. The Newport 2, a new addition in ’97, features a heel/toe weighted head which is longer than the Newport’s, with a more angular, mechanical look. 1/4 toe hang produces the same toe flow as the Newport, but at address the putters are strikingly different. Scotty describes the Newport as bulbulous, and the Newport 2 as blockier.
